The sequel to Gravity Guy, called Gravity Guy 2, with a more human character, was released in March 2013 for Xbox Live on Windows Phone. The free version of the game was updated on Jfor the iOS on the App Store to support the iPhone 5. Gravity Guy's full version went free for a limited time for the iOS on the App Store in May 2013 prior to the release of the sequel called Gravity Guy 2. The free Android app is like the full version with only 2 slow motions, 2 shields, and Ads (to unlock Ads user must buy the full version). On iOS it features only 10 levels, 1 theme, 2 slow motions and 2 shields. The free version of Gravity Guy for iOS and Android was released in 2011. The game also contains a multiplayer mode, allowing up to four players (using Game Center on iOS or locally) to play the game. Endless mode consists of randomly generated levels while Practice mode goes through the levels from the story without the police officer. Story mode features up to sixty levels for both "Run" and "Rescue", thirty levels for each part of the story, with up to fifteen levels in the original Flash game. The three modes in the game are Story Mode, Endless and Practice. If killed, the player returns to the last checkpoint taken. The objective is to run as far as possible while avoiding obstacles that can trap the main character (who can be killed by a police officer), falling or flying off the screen. The player controls Gravity Guy by tapping the screen (or pressing the keyboard space bar key on the computer versions) to switch gravity. As of late 2018, the game is no longer available on the App Store, Google Play Store or Microsoft Store. This was the last update of the game for iOS. On July 15, 2013, the game was updated on the App Store to support the iPhone 5. It was later released for macOS on Mac App Store on March 10, 2011, for Windows Phone on Windows Phone Store on September 7, 2011, for Android on Google Play on Novemand for Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 on Microsoft Store on November 28, 2012. Gravity Guy was first released for iOS on the App Store and Symbian OS on Nokia Store on Decemand also available on Miniclip website using Flash at the time of release. Earning enough coins to unlock or purchase what you want does require some effort but it's not an excruciating grind by any means, nor does it take so little effort that it becomes boring.Gravity Guy is a 2010 side-scrolling endless runner action arcade video game developed and published by Miniclip. It can be tough to strike a balance between being way too easy and taking far too long, but Gravity Guy 2 hits the sweet spot. I also have to give Miniclip credit for the way they've managed to balance all the coin collecting and character unlocking. The characters are a particularly big draw - they each offer up their own special abilities like automatic respawning after a failure or building up huge combos. It takes some practice but it feels really great stringing a bunch of them together to rack up a massive score.Ĭollecting Coins and gems found in out-of-the-way portions of the track contributes to a set of between-mission goals, and also gives you the dough needed to buy a variety of power-ups and new characters. There are glowing green spots on some platforms that grant a significant score boost if you can time it perfectly to get Guy to land on them. It's kind-of a pain to learn, but I eventually did start to have fun with the indirect jump controls. There's a mid-air boost that can be activated for a little extra course correction, but for the most part you have to hope you land where you want. Instead you have to hold the screen to raise the platform then let go in order to drop it, timing your upward momentum to launch you to the next patch of ground. This new mechanic is pretty difficult to adjust to since there's no actual jump button. As Guy ceaselessly runs, you fling him over pits and obstacles by raising and lowering the platforms he runs across. Gravity Guy 2 is all about platform control.
